2010 Regional Conferences a Big Success

Attendees at the Oakland Regional Conference sign pillow cases to be delivered to Senator Feinstein and Representative Lee with the message: "You'll sleep better knowing every student has access to quality health care. Vote for the school-based health center appropriation!"

CSHC hosted over 400 attendees at three regional conferences, attracting passionate and energetic crowds. Attendees came from diverse fields, but were all focused on one mission – supporting healthy children and successful students! CSHC's Fresno conference (Feb. 19), Los Angeles conference (March 9), and Oakland conference (April 21) drew everyone from school nurses, doctors and mental health care providers to school board members, school administrators, school legal counsel, and clinic staff. (Check out our photo gallery of all three conferences.)

Here is a sampling of some of the feedback we received:

“Great conference and plenty of time for networking and talking with exhibitors.”

“I loved the interactive style of the workshops.”

“I was able to gain knowledge and framework to work with the school and community organizations.”

Many thanks to our conference hosts – the Fresno County Office of Education and the California Endowment in Los Angeles and Oakland – for donating the space; and to our sponsors and exhibitors, who enabled us to keep registration costs affordable.
