Two New LAUSD School-based Health Centers Opening This Month

Seven years ago, Los Angeles Unified School District launched a new initiative to open 14 “Wellness Centers” for students. These Wellness Centers will provide students with a broad range of services to improve their health and well being. Half of the Wellness Centers will be  existing SBHCs undergoing major construction and programmatic expansion to accommodate students, their families, and community members. The other half will be brand new clinics. Most of these centers will be opening this school year. Two grand openings are scheduled this month: Jefferson High School Wellness Center on October 18th at 11 am; and Carson High School Wellness Center on October 19 at 10 am. (Carson opening invite.)
