Through a grant from Kaiser Permanente, CSHC partnered with West Contra Costa Unified School District, the district’s six SBHCs, Kaiser, County Supervisor John Gioia and the California Endowment to host an SBHC Open House for WCC community and business leaders. Guests heard from each of the SBHC youth boards, toured the Kennedy High School SBHC and visited with staff and youth from each of the district’s SBHCs. The message to all was clear, SBHCs don’t just provide medical services; they transform student’s lives. Equally clear, community support is critical to their success.
