Anti-Racism

Racism is a system of structuring opportunity and assigning value based on race that unfairly disadvantages some and advantages others – it is both created and maintained by people and institutions in order for its continued impact. Violence, discrimination, and racism are not just perpetuated by law enforcement, they prevail in our health care systems too. Systemic racism, not race, leads to stark health disparities. The California School-Based Health Alliance has compiled resources for school-based health centers and school health providers to help guide individual and organizational efforts at becoming anti-racist and building racial justice for young people.
